i-MiEV wins prestigious environmental award

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is proud to announce that our revolutionary all-electric i-MiEV vehicle was recently awarded the prestigious "Environmental Special Grand Prize." The prize was announced at the 25th International Festival held in Paris on February 4th, 2010.

A panel of 18 distinguished judges named i-MiEV one of four nominees, each representing "concrete projects for sustainable mobility in terms of environmental protection or security." In accepting the award, Mitsubishi Motors France President Kiyoshi Teshima declared "This Grand Prize is a great honor and is further incentive for our engineers to continue pursuing Mitsubishi Motors' pioneering work in promotion of popularization of alternative powertrains."

Mitsubishi Motors has been developing electric vehicle technology since 1971. And we've continued our EV research ever since, with a special concentration on motors and batteries. Now i-MiEV is currently on-sale in Japan and being road tested in the United Kingdom. And Mitsubishi is poised to bring i-MiEV to market in the U.S. with zero on-road CO2 emissions, minimal noise and outstanding energy efficiency.
